First the House of Hope, and now the FPE has helped to identify and train local church leaders. Over the year, we have worked with over sixty (60) ministries and churches to do effective local ministry in their communities. This year, we restarted monthly LPT (leadership, prayer and training) meetings to reinforce and train leaders who will, in turn, train people in their churches.

For over fifteen years one of the core values of the House of Hope and now of the Foundation is the identification and training of local leaders to do ministries in their local contexts. This started over fifteen years ago when the founders, Rev. Dr. Mario and Iris Morales began the House of Hope working with newly graduated seminary students to develop ministries that could partner with local churches to make an impact on their communities. Since the beginning of the ministry, over sixty-five (65) local ministries have begun and partnered with churches and many still continue to this day.

Last year, the Foundation return to a practice that had been lost over time and we began to have monthly leadership development training. It is a time of community building. As we worship and pray, we share about how God is using His people to make a difference in their local communities and we have a short leadership development lesson as well. Since we began these meetings we have seen them become a regular “family gathering” where we can share what God is doing in and around us through the Holy Spirit. God is doing great things through these leaders.

One of the really interesting things that has come out of our monthly leadership development meetings was a great conversation with Henry, one of our dentists (on the left in the picture below). He came to us and asked if he could start a bible study for professionals. He went on to share that the leadership meetings were great but he wanted to have an opportunity to do deeper bible studies with people in professional positions who volunteer in the ministry (doctors, dentists, lawyers, accountants, etc.) so that we can all grow closer to Christ.

We began the program in December of 2019 and are very excited to see Henry’s initiative and others who were also hoping for something similar. We are looking forward to how God will bring these young professionals closer to Himself in 2020 and the ways that it will translate into their ministries going forward.
